In this episode we discuss the importance of hydration, ways to stay hydrated, and the signs and effects of dehydration.

Adequate hydration is required for body to function
Every cell in the body relies on water
Supplies fluid to joints
Shock absorber in spine
Organs and tissues need water to function
Regulates body temperature
Flushes toxins through kidneys

Dehydration occurs when the body loses more water and salts than it takes in.

Causes of dehydration
Not drinking enough water
Excessive sweating
Fever
Continuous vomiting or diarrhea
Frequent urination

Signs of dehydration
Thirst -- if you feel thirsty you're already dehydrating
Dark, or orange urine

Chronic dehydration can cause:
Sleepiness
Dry mouth
Constipation
Decreased urine output
Kidney stones
Mood changes
Unclear or clou thinking

Benifits of Proper hydration
Improves digestion
Improved athletic performance
Weight management
Anti-aging effects on skin

Avoiding dehydration
Hydrate before starting your day
Hydrate before exercising
Hydrate before strenuous activity
