In Episode #33, we do a gear review of the Mr. Heater, Big Buddy Propane Heater
This model has three heating levels, low - 4,000 BTU, medium 9,000 BTU, and high at 18,000 BTU.
This model operates off one pound, little green, propane bottles. Two bottles may be inserted into the back of the heator.
The heater will also operate with the adaptor hose from the 20 pound, BBQ grill style tanks.
We've found that the Big Buddy, on high heat setting, consumes approximately one pound per hour. We have yet to test the propane consumption on medium and low settings.
The heater is rated indoor safe and has the ffollowing features:
Low Oxygen safety shut off ( ODS)
Accidental tip-over shut off
Piezo sparking igniter
Heats up to 450 Sq. Ft
Weight 17.1 pounds
Our Conclusion:
This heater is a great auxiliary or supplemental heat source.
We recommend the Big Buddy heater without hesitation.
Be sure to stock up on propane considering your personal needs.
